Area-Wide Plan: Community Presentation and Workshop

Join us on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 9th & 10th, to learn more about and participate in the "Glenwood: Moving Forward Together" Project, an EPA Area-Wide Planning Effort. The Area-Wide Plan will be used as a road-map to revitalize three brownfield sites within the City of Glenwood Springs and to use the development of those sites as part of a broader transformation of the City's downtown and riverfront areas.

On Tuesday, Jan. 9th, the City and its consultants will present the initial findings and potential strategies for the "Glenwood: Moving Forward Together" Project. The presentation will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Wednesday, Jan. 10th, will be your chance to give input and help guide the strategy to tie together the redevelopment of the Confluence area, the 6th Street Corridor, 7th Street and Two Rivers Park. This community workshop will be held at 6 p.m. in CMC's Morgridge Commons room (2nd floor of the library).

Christmas Tree

Drop-Off Your Christmas Tree at the Old Rodeo Grounds

Now through January 7, residents of Glenwood Springs can drop-off their Christmas trees at the old rodeo grounds, adjacent to the airport.

Before leaving the tree at the collection site, please be sure to remove all lights, ornaments, tree stands, nails, and any other objects that could damage the wood chipping equipment. The collection site is intended for Christmas trees and fallen leaves only. Please—no wreaths, garland, yard waste (other than leaves), tree branches, or other wood products.

To get to the collection site, head south on Midland Avenue to Airport Road. There will be signs on Airport Road explaining where to drop-off the trees. Trees can also be dropped off any time of year at the South Canyon Landfill.

Thank you first responders!
