New stop signs on 8th/Pitkin

New Stop Sign Locations on Pitkin Ave and 8th Street, Pitkin and 11th

The City of Glenwood Springs has created a new three-way stop at the intersection of Pitkin Avenue and 8th Street, across from City Hall and Garfield County Administration. The addition of stop signs on 8th Street will make it easier for pedestrians to cross, currently a challenge due to the electrical transformer box and parked cars on the southwest side of the intersection.

The City has also installed a new set of stop signs on Pitkin Avenue at 11th Street. The new four-way stop will allow for smoother traffic flow and avoid traffic backing up into Glenwood Springs Elementary.

Glenwood: Moving Forward Together

EPA Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Effort

Please join us for a public Open House for our Area-Wide Planning Effort. We are inviting the community to learn more about the project and to help guide the strategy to tie together the Confluence Redevelopment, 6th Street Corridor Master Plan, 7th Street Beautification project and Two Rivers Park. The two events will provide the same information and opportunity to provide feedback. Community members are encouraged to attend the event that is convenient for them.

There will be two public open houses from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 30 at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library, located at 815 Cooper Ave.
