City Awarded $200K Area-Wide Grant

The City of Glenwood Springs is pleased to announce that the City is one of 19 recipients of an EPA Brownfield Area-Wide Planning Grant, announced by the EPA on Jan. 5, 2017.

The $200,000 grant will allow the City to create a strategy to tie together the Confluence Redevelopment, 6th Street Corridor Master Plan, 7th Street Beautification project and Two Rivers Park. Together with expert consultants and community stakeholders, the City will use this grant to develop an implementation plan to revitalize the brownfields located along the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers in the City’s core, including a 5-acre site where the City’s decommissioned wastewater treatment plant is located. City Council petitions available now

Those wishing to run for a City Council seat in the regular election of the City of Glenwood Springs on April 4, 2017, may pick up a Nominating Petition from the City Clerk at City Hall, 101 W. 8th Street, Suite 325.
There are three City Council seats up for election:
Ward 2 (Four-year term)
Ward 5 (Four-year term)
At Large (Four-year term)

All candidates must be a citizen of the United States, have resided in the City of Glenwood Springs for one year immediately prior to the date of the election, and be a qualified elector as defined by the laws of the State of Colorado. Those candidates running in Wards 2 and 5 must reside in the Ward for which (s)he is running.

Petitions must be returned to the City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017.

Grant applications for the City's Discretionary Grant Program and Tourism Promotion Grant, managed by the Financial Advisory Board, opened Jan. 2, 2017. Applications are due March 17, 2017. Read More...
