You're invited to a Vision Glenwood Open House on August 25!
The Glenwood Springs Comprehensive Plan Update is in full swing! Join the Vision Glenwood team on Thursday, August 25 at City Hall (101 W. 8th St.) at either 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m. for the next community open house. Food, kids activities, and Spanish interpretation will be provided. During these sessions Glenwood residents and community members are invited to review the plan’s draft strategies and recommendations and weigh in on strategic priorities. These priorities and the framework of the plan have been shaped by community feedback to date.
Think of any of the major issues or challenges facing our community – housing, transportation, climate, and more. This update touches each of these areas and aims to provide Glenwood with the policies and strategies we need to advance our community vision.
As a direct opportunity for members of the Latino/a community to comment on the draft policies and strategies, there will also be a Picnic Comunitario (English: Latino Community Picnic) at Sayre Park (1702 Grand Ave.) on Sunday, August 21 from 12:30-3 p.m. This event will be conducted primarily in Spanish, but English interpretation and assistance will be available. Free food and games for all who attend.
For individuals unable to attend the in-person events, input is welcome at the project website VisionGlenwood.com or via email at VisionGlenwood@cogs.us.
Topics for discussion at each of these events will include growth management, community character, economic development, transportation, housing, recreation, climate, and more. Input from the August 25 open houses, comments from VisionGlenwood.com and feedback from the Latino Community Picnic will be used to complete the draft plan which will be presented to the public for additional feedback.
